DAYS OF DHUL HIJJAH

On 22nd December, Friday's sermon, My Respected Teacher quoted a few verses from the Surah No. 89 Al-Fajr (The Dawn) This Surah has 30 Ayaat and was revealed in Makkah.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

1. By the dawn;

A question arises, Which dawn?

*A few commentators of the Qur'an indicate that this could be any dawn. Others mention that it could be the 10th Dhul Hijjah's dawn. The reason being is that the night before Yawman nahr (10th Dhul hijjah) is not actually the night of Yawman Nahr because this specific night is of Yawm al Arafah. We must understand that there are two nights of Arafah in the Shariah's perspective. The Shariah ruling is, if some one has been prevented to go to Arafah on its specific day however if he/she makes an attempt to arrive in Arafah even after Maghrib (which will be the night of the following day) his/her Hajj will be valid. So in conclusion that night will be classed as the night of Arafah. The dawn here is the dawn of Yawman Nahr to give its importance... (Allah knows best)...

2. By the ten nights.
(I.e. the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hîjjah)

*The 10 nights... He (subhana watalla) has promised us on these blessed days also.

3. And by the even and the odd.

*11th 12th and the 13th are exceedingly elevated; therefore Allah subhana watalla gives firm assurance to those, who devote themselves in the pleasure of Allah on those days, as well as the ones mentioned above. Of course we are rewarded on these days, If we devote our self in worship and in the pleasure of Allah. However on the contrary we will also be humiliated and disgraced, If we engage our self in unlawful acts...

As My Beloved Teacher advises:

* Benefit from these blessed days as much as you can and build your akhirat (hereafter)
*Indeed we may do good deeds, however we should try our utmost best to avoid sins too. As good deeds are doubled in reward, similarly sins and their effects will also be doubled. Just as we take the blessed place in consideration we must also take the blessed time in consideration:
i.e. To drink alcohol in the Masjid is far more worse than drinking outside the Masjid, similarly to commit sins in these blessed days are more detrimental than committing them on any other occasion...

May Allah give us the understanding of Deen...
